Dr. James Maggio has been treating patients since 1995. He is well-known and highly respected among chiropractors throughout the country. Dr. Maggio has delivered more than 120,000 treatments during his career. He can often be found in the giving educational health seminars in the Virginia Beach community.

Dr. Ryan Hollingshead | Chiropractor

Dr. Ryan Hollingshead is no new-comer when it comes to chiropractic medicine. He began working for a chiropractor in his hometown of Buchanan, Michigan when he was 17 years old. The experiences he gleamed from there would propel him forward and helped him to pursue his own career in the chiropractic field. After graduating high school, he spent four years at a local community college and then transferred to Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. He spent five years developing his trade and specializing in a myriad of chiropractic adjustment techniques including Activator, Diversified, and Thompson. He graduated with his Doctorate in Chiropractic in 2018.

Dr. Hollingshead strives to give each and every patient the best care possible. He is attentive to detail and will more often than not, crack a “Dad” joke. Through caring, compassion, and chiropractic care, there are few obstacles that he isn’t up to tackling. New Patients

What Can I Expect At My First Visit?

Your first visit will be a consultation with Dr. Maggio to determine whether you are a good candidate for chiropractic care. New patients will have an examination that follows in which we will study the way your spine moves. The examination uses a digital posture analysis and the computerized ProAdjuster to analyze your joint function. Our examination is thorough and completely painless.

We aim to see you on time with a smile and a warm welcome. We will then study the results and give you a report of what we find and the conclusions we have reached. If we discover that you would benefit from consulting a different practitioner, we will make the proper referral. Otherwise, we will recommend a program of specific chiropractic care and/or physical therapy performed in our office.

If you are looking for a chiropractor appointment in Virginia Beach, you can schedule a chiropractor appointment without even making a phone call. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY. We offer two types of initial visits.

The first is our standard “New patient evaluation/examination” visit. This visit allows us to completely evaluate you and get started with treatment right away. Almost all patients start with the evaluation/examination visit.

The second is our “Tour” visit. The tour visit is for people who are unsure if chiropractic care is the best choice for them. The tour visit allows you to inform the doctor of your health concerns and get a scan with the ProAdjuster analysis instrument to determine if chiropractic care is right for you. Since the tour visit is an introductory visit to our office it is only $15. That makes the tour visit perfect for people who want to make sure we can help them.

What Happens Next?

Based on the chiropractic treatment and life style plan you choose, you will start coming in to our office for scheduled appointments. Typically, appointments are more frequent to begin with so we can address major problems. As you progress through your treatment plan, suggested appointments will become less frequent.

This is a normal and natural process, as your body begins to better adapt and correct itself.

Many new patients begin to feel a difference in their pain levels within the first few visits. Many continue their chiropractic care after their immediate pain resolves. This maintenance care is necessary, in order to prevent recurrence. It is also usually preferred by many patients because they can feel a difference in their overall health with a health maintenance plan in place.
